Pajama Press is proud to announce that Namesake by Sue MacLeod has been shortlisted for the National Chapter of Canada IODE Violet Downey Book Award.
Given each year to the best English-language book for children aged 13 and under that contains at least 500 words of text, the award will be celebrating its 30th anniversary on May 30th, 2014. That night, at IODE Canada’s National Annual Meeting, the winner of this year’s award will be announced from a shortlist of five titles.
IODE Canada is “a national women’s charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals through education support, community service and citizenship programs.” For more information, visit the organization’s website at www.IODE.ca.

The Stowaways by Meghan Marentette and Nix Minus One by Jill MacLean have both been selected for a 3-title shortlist for the Ann Connor Brimer Award.
The Ann Connor Brimer Award is part of the Atlantic Book Awards Festival, which will be celebrated at events across the four Atlantic provinces the week of May 14. Winners will be announced at a Charlottetown gala on May 21. Both authors will participate in a series of events leading up to the gala.

Pajama Press is proud to announce that three of our titles have been shortlisted for the 2014 Canadian Library Association Awards.
The Stowaways by Meghan Marentette, with illustrations by Dean Griffiths, has been shortlisted for the Book of the Year for Children Award. Graffiti Knight by Karen Bass and Nix Minus One by Jill MacLean have both been shortlisted for the Young Adult Book Award.
We congratulate our three nominated authors and look forward to hearing the award results the week of April 14th.

Pajama Press is pleased to announce that Acts of Courage: Laura Secord and the War of 1812 by Connie Brummel Crook has been shortlisted for two different 2012 Word Awards, in the categories of Young Adult and Historical Fiction.
The winners will be announced at at the 2013 gala to be held at World Vision Canada headquarters in Mississauga, Ontario on June 12, 2013. Tickets can be purchased at The Word Guild’s website.
