Beverley Brenna

Beverley Brenna is a writer, editor, and visual artist known for her warm, funny, family stories for young readers. Having previously published more than 15 books in all children’s genres, she has been honored with various accolades for her works. In 2013, Beverley’s young adult novel, The White Bicycle, earned a Printz Honor Award from the American Library Association and was short listed for a Governor General’s Literary Award. She also received a Dolly Gray Award for her novel, Waiting for No One, in 2012 and a Stuchner Award for humor for Sapphire and the Great Meaning of Life in 2021. Beverley is a professor emerita from the University of Saskatchewan, where her research spotlights patterns and themes in children’s literature. She has also spent 4 years as the Children’s Book Editor for Red Deer Press. She and her family live in Saskatoon.
